Colfe’s was delighted to welcome entrepreneur Anisa Khan who gave an inspirational talk to Year 12 students in the latest in the Forum lecture series.
Founder of Bombay Pizza, an Indian fusion pizza brand, Anisa is also recognisable as finalist and runner-up in the 2025 BBC series The Apprentice, in which she greatly impressed Lord Alan Sugar and his colleagues with her ambition, leadership and integrity.
Anisa’s journey through school and university at the London School of Economics, where she studied Politics and Economics, resulted in high academic achievements which seemed to be leading to a path to a career in finance or medicine. But after travel in Japan and a delay to starting a job in finance due to Covid, she seized the opportunity to launch her own business. She explained she was sharing her journey to inspire students to think creatively, believe in themselves, and take bold steps towards their goals—regardless of their background or starting point.
Her powerful messages of resilience and creativity clearly resounded with a student body full of enthusiasm for the entrepreneurial spirit. A lively post-talk Q&A session led to further discussion on the challenges and opportunities of starting and running a business, as well as some valuable insight and tips for the audience.
Assistant Director of Sixth Form (Academic) Holly Batten said: “It was a pleasure to welcome Anisa to talk to our Year 12 students. Her passion for entrepreneurship, underpinned not only by her business acumen but her impressive drive to succeed on her own terms, was inspirational. A message of ambition and crucially resilience shone through, which has been a key recurring theme for the Forum lecture series this year. She also had some fantastic practical advice for our Sixth Formers as they start thinking about their next steps, including tips on networking and building interpersonal skills that will be invaluable for all students whatever their pathway.”
