Congratulations to talented Year 12 artist Annie, who has won a coveted place on a BFI Film Academy Animation and VFX residential course.
Annie is the first ever Colfe’s student to win a place on this prestigious and highly sought-after British Film Institute programme. The two-week course for 16-19 year olds is a very special opportunity for students to work with leading industry professionals to develop animation and visual effects skills. Annie will team up with other talented young filmmakers to make animated film and VFX sequences, with unrivalled guidance from award-winning industry specialists.
Designed to develop more specialist filmmaking skills, the course also includes opportunities to attend film screenings and networking events, support with building portfolios, and six months follow-up careers and training support.
Head of Art Naomi Gudge said:
“We are absolutely thrilled that Annie has won this opportunity. It is a hugely competitive process to gain a place on one of these BFI courses, which are high-level national talent development projects. Annie’s talent and commitment to this form of art is already excellent, and I am sure she will gain a great deal from the experience. Well done to her.”
