Year 12 students enjoyed an action-packed start to Sixth Form with a day of adventure, teamwork and friendship-building at Stubbers Adventure Centre on Thursday 10 September.
Designed to bring the year group together at the start of Sixth Form, the day gave students the chance to meet new people, forge friendships and work alongside classmates in a completely different setting. The shared experiences and challenges helped create a strong sense of community from the very beginning of the academic year.

Throughout the day, students embraced a range of exciting activities, including raft building, climbing, archery, combat archery, dirt boarding and axe throwing. Each challenge encouraged students to step outside their comfort zones, work collaboratively and support one another.
There was no shortage of determination, laughter and team spirit as students tackled every activity with enthusiasm. Whether keeping a homemade raft afloat or conquering a fear of heights, students demonstrated resilience, communication skills and a willingness to take on new challenges.
Clare Santry, Assistant Head, Sixth Form, said: “The Adventure Day is always a fantastic way to start the Sixth Form journey. It gives students the opportunity to get to know one another in a relaxed and enjoyable setting before the demands of the academic year begin. It was wonderful to see so many students mixing naturally, supporting each other through the challenges and beginning to form the friendships and sense of community that will be such an important part of their Sixth Form experience.”
As the newest Sixth Form cohort begins the year ahead, the Adventure Day provided a memorable introduction to Sixth Form life, helping students build the connections, confidence and sense of belonging that will support them throughout their time at Colfe’s.
