Year 11 students celebrated excellent GCSE results today, with 80% of grades awarded 9-7.

Almost a third of all exams were awarded a grade 9.

57% of grades were awarded at the top two highest tiers, 9-8, far exceeding the national average, consolidating Colfe’s position among the UK’s leading independent schools.

Several students achieved a clean sweep of grade 9s, with 11% of the cohort awarded grades 8 or 9 for all their subjects.

Natalie (10 grade 9s) said: “One or two of my grades were even higher than I’d hoped so I’m quite surprised and I am so happy. I’m going to take English, German, Politics and Drama A-levels.”

Ivan (9 grade 9s) said: “I’m very happy with my results and pleased that the hard work paid off. I’m planning to take Maths, Further Maths, Physics and either Economics or History at A-level.”

Myroslava joined the school as a Ukrainian refugee in 2022, achieved grades including several 9s, 8s and 7s, and plans to study Maths, Economics, Art and Psychology at A-level. She said, “I am very excited to join sixth form. I am so happy to have had the opportunity to be at Colfe’s and receive such a high-quality education. It was really hard to study for GCSEs in a third language but with the help and support of all my teachers who believed in me, I actually did it!”

Headmaster Dan Gabriele said: “Congratulations to our Year 11 students on these terrific results. The percentage of 9 and 9-8 grades is fantastic, grades that will open doors for our girls and boys, but there are individual success stories across the range. I’m delighted that our pupils’ ambition and hard work has paid off and I am hugely grateful to our teachers, whose expertise, commitment and kindness underpins this success. Coming hot on the heels of record-breaking A-level results last week, it’s an exciting time to be at Colfe’s.”
