Sport
Focus on the best? Or develop the rest? People often think it has to be one or the other, especially in sport. In fact you can have both – and at Colfe’s we do. There is something for everyone here.
We compete in netball, rugby, hockey, swimming, cricket, football, athletics, cross-country, tennis and biathlon – all are open to every pupil (boys and girls). From national and county level to block-fixtures against our local rivals. In the past year, every single pupil in Year 7 represented the school in some sort of competitive sport.
When we compete, we play to win. But how we compete is more important than winning at all costs. As we say on the games field: sporting, not just sporty. You can be nice as well as successful: in fact that’s almost a definition of a Colfe’s pupil.
