Modern Languages

At Colfe’s, all children have the opportunity to learn French and Spanish at Key Stage 2 – French in Years 3, 4 and 5, Spanish in Year 6.

All lessons are taught by Fluent French/Spanish speaking teachers who have excellent subject knowledge and are passionate about the language and aspects of the culture. Children receive a Modern Language lesson each week, which is delivered using interactive resources and programmes. Staff plan innovative experiences for the children, such as a ‘French Breakfast’ hosted by pupils in the Senior School, French storytelling workshops and Salsa workshops.
