Mathematics

At Colfe’s the ‘Busy Ants Maths‘ scheme (Collins) is used as the basis for learning in order to ensure every objective from the National Curriculum is taught.

Our aim is for all children to see patterns and connections within the number system as well as be mentally fluent. We encourage children to discuss how they got to their answers as well as develop their own reliable, effective strategies for calculating, reasoning and problem solving through logical, systematic approaches.

Colfe’s children will be competent at dealing with number and its application to real life contexts and are able to use appropriate terminology. We set aspirational goals for our children so that they become confident in their everyday lives and promote enjoyment and enthusiasm through maths.

Art & Design

Within Art children have the opportunity to work on a variety of techniques such as: drawing and painting, collage, textile, 3D design, printmaking and digital media.
