Assessment & Entrance Exams
Information for main entry points
The entrance examinations at 11+ take place in January each year and candidates are required to spend a full school day at Colfe’s. The morning will consist of assessments in English and Mathematics, followed by lunch and an afternoon of taster lessons in Culture, Arts and STEM subjects. Please find links to sample papers for the 11+ entrance examination on the right.
Entrance into the Sixth Form involves submitting a written personal statement as well as two recent school reports. Those wishing to apply for an academic scholarship (including Leathersellers’ Scholarships) will be required to sit an examination – candidates can choose between an essay-based or mathematics assessment. Successful candidates will be invited to interview and offers made are conditional on achieving at least four Grade 7/A at GCSE. At this stage we will also ask for a reference from the pupil’s current school.
Nursery & Reception Assessments
These assessments happen in the autumn term and places are offered before the end of the term. Details of the assessment and information on what to expect are available via the link to the right.
