Preparing for University
Dedicated support for your path ahead
The vast majority of leavers from Colfe’s go on to higher education, whether at university or at a specialist college for Music, Art or Drama, in the UK or abroad. In 2024, 95% of our students went to their chosen university, including Oxford and Cambridge, Medicine, Imperial College and Russell Group and other leading competitive universities. Across the UK and beyond, the range of universities and courses on offer is so varied: we help guide every student towards the degree which suits them best.
As soon as you join our Sixth Form your Personal Tutor, alongside our wider team, will support you through your UCAS journey, from navigating university open days to preparing applications, writing Personal Statements and providing mock interview practice from professional experts.
Some applications are necessarily more complex and rigorous than others, with preparation beginning early in Year 12. We offer tailored programmes to prepare students considering Competitive Courses, Medicine and Overseas applications, with bespoke preparation for these specific pathways.
We also offer specialist support for students considering an Extended Project Qualification, an independent and enriching study project that extends students’ knowledge beyond the curriculum and can be a powerful addition to a student’s university application.
For our creative students, we offer bespoke support for producing portfolios that accompany applications to specialist performing arts, visual arts or music colleges.
