Preparing for University
Our students go on to study what they want, where they want
Every student is guided to the degree which is best suited for them. And if university isn’t for you, we can guide you towards the best apprenticeship and career alternatives for life after Colfe’s.
Alongside bespoke support from our careers service, Sixth Form students also uniquely have a Personal Tutor, who will support them all the way through their UCAS journey. We guide pupils through the transition to A-level study, finding work experience and developing careers interests, right up to preparing university and apprenticeship applications, writing Personal Statements and mock interview practice from external professional experts as well as our experienced Sixth Form and Careers team.
In preparing for university, some applications are necessarily more complex and rigorous than others. All Year 12 students have the opportunity to join Medicine Society, the Competitive Courses Team and the Overseas University group, each with tailored and enriching programmes to best prepare students for these highly competitive pathways, including preparation for admission tests. Likewise, for our creative students we offer bespoke support for producing portfolios which accompany these applications.
