Pupils Triumph at CWIZZ Book Quiz

For the fourth consecutive year Colfe’s pupils have brought home the CWIZZ South Book Quiz trophy.

The annual CWIZZ Quiz is organised by authors group Children’s Writers and Illustrators for Stories and Literacy (CWISL), and is run to help promote love of reading, creative writing and illustration. The competition is based on five rounds of general knowledge questions based on children’s literature, and was keenly contested by 26 teams from schools across south London.

Colfe’s put forward three teams comprising pupils from Years 7 and 8. All three teams did very well, with the team of Verity, Immy, Emily and Reuben emerging triumphant as overall winners.

Alice, Year 8, reviewed the event:

“I participated in the CWISL book quiz (the CWIZZ) at Dulwich College in both Year 7 and Year 8. The competition is between lots of local schools who battle it out for the trophy. You have to really know your books as there are all different types of rounds such as recognising first lines from books, and identifying book covers. It is an experience I will always remember and such a worthwhile thing to do. I love being part of the book quiz team and getting to win competitions for the school. Being able to go to the CWIZZ is a really enjoyable trip and one I highly recommend. There is always such an incredible atmosphere and buzz on the day of the quiz.”

Congratulations to all our talented readers!
