Old Colfeian Society Annual Dinner

Amidst the elegance of the Royal Blackheath Golf Club, the Old Colfeian Society was delighted to hold its Annual Dinner for the first time since before the Covid-19 pandemic.

OCS Chairman Martin Cartwright performed master-of-ceremonies duties, hosting over 60 guests including alumni and OCS members from across the years, alongside Colfe’s Headmaster Richard Russell, OCS President Greg Jones, KC, and current school captains Alice East and Alex Gray. Among the guests was one particularly notable attendee, Herbert Roberts, Class of 1946, who attended Colfe’s during WWII and travelled from Cheshire to join the festivities.

After a splendid dinner, guests enjoyed traditional toasts and speeches from Richard Russell and Greg Jones, followed by Alice and Alex who spoke about their time at Colfe’s and their ambitions for the future.

Guests also enjoyed a special musical treat with a performance from Amelie (Year 10) who transported guests to the tropical islands of the Pacific ocean with her rendition of Honey Bun from South Pacific. A rousing rendition of the school song, Carmen Colfanum, was joined in by all who attended.

A generous contribution of £5,000 from the Old Colfeian Society 300 Club was presented to the school by two former pupils. The gift will be earmarked to support scholarships for pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds.
