Young Computer Scientist Programme

Learning at Colfe’s doesn’t stop at the classroom and Year 12 student Ayo is a great example of how investing time and energy into extra-curricular studies really pays off.

Ayo successfully completed The Young Computer Scientist Programme, an InvestIN course which takes pupils aged 15-18 on an immersive exploration of pioneering technology. The two-day, online course involves a mixture of interactive simulations, exercises and Q&A sessions with a panel of high-ranking computer scientists on a range of topics.

Says Ayo: “The InvestIN programme was really helpful in showing me what a career in Computer Science entails. I was able to learn about different career branches within Computer Science such as cyber security, software engineering and AI development. I also got a lot of useful tips on how to apply for a Computer Science course at university. My favourite topic discussed was definitely cyber security.”
