Year 7 go outdoors

New Year 7 pupils had a taste of Colfe’s dedicated Outdoor Education Programme with a day trip to Grangewaters Outdoor Activity Centre, Essex.

The programme, which spans across the Senior School, is designed to help develop self-confidence, interpersonal skills and resilience.

Pupils had a packed itinerary with opportunities to experience a range of challenging activities including peg ladder, climbing, abseiling, archery, canoeing, sailing and mountain biking.

Head of Outdoor Education Chris Cherry said “Typically at this time of the year we would be taking Year 7 pupils to the Lake District for a week-long residential. Determined they shouldn’t miss out on this valuable time we were able a organise a taster session instead. Outdoor Education is valuable to personal development and I was pleased to see our new cohort embracing the challenges and building new friendships.”
