Year 3 pupil becomes young author
Avid book lover, Hachi (Year 3) has become a published author with her children’s story book, The Manor of Bears. A virtual book launch took place on Saturday 24 April and orders have been coming in for this illustrated adventure story which is aimed at young readers.
Hachi wrote the book over two months in the Summer of 2020 when she was just seven years old. She tells us ‘this book is about two girls who love adventures and who journey through raging rivers, climb hills and mountains to the highly sought-after Manor of Bears’.
Catriona Macleod, Head of Junior School, who attended the virtual launch said: “It is very exciting to have a young author in our school. We are all very proud of Hachi and her fantastic achievement. She will be a wonderful role model to others in school. We can’t wait to share this wonderful story with our younger pupils.”
Hachi’s parents explain: “We are extremely proud of Hachi writing her book independently. Also, her book featuring in the Amazon bestseller list (Art Biographies for Children list) is unbelievable and we thank God for her achievements thus far.”
A big thank you to Hachi’s parents who are providing copies of the book for our Junior School library. Pupils and staff are very much looking forward to the next story time.
