Pupils, parents and staff to perform Vivaldi’s Gloria

We are delighted to invite parents and friends of Colfe’s to our Autumn Concert at St Alfege’s Church on 26 November. Following successful performances of The Armed Man in 2016 and Carmina Burana in 2017, this year’s recital is of the Baroque masterpiece Vivaldi’s Gloria.

The concert brings together the school orchestra and choir, along with alumni and guest performers from Trinity Laban Conservatoire. The programme also includes pieces by the senior string quartet and soloists, as well as original compositions by Year 13 music scholars.

Pupils have been enthusiastically rehearsing since the beginning of term and recently welcomed Christopher Hann, assistant conductor with the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain, for a choral workshop.

Director of Music Benedict Holmes said “The pupils have made excellent progress and we are all really excited about performing at St Alfege’s Church. Vivaldi’s Gloria provides both challenge and excitement, and the pupils bring a great enthusiasm to the work. Christopher’s workshop was inspirational and provided us with lots of new ideas to make the performance even more dynamic. This promises to be a fantastic concert!”

The concert begins at 6pm and will last approximately an hour – tickets are available to book online at www.ticketsource.co.uk/colfes.
