Outdoor Singing Assemblies

Junior School pupils are uniting outdoors to practice their singing and dancing skills.

Singing Assemblies are being held every Tuesday (Y5 & 6), Wednesday (KS1) and Thursday (Y3 & 4) in the KS1 playground, allowing pupils to sing together in mixed year groups.

The sessions consist of a vocal warm-up including actions, followed by a seasonal song to learn and sing. Music teachers Mrs Smith and Mrs Metherell have been energetically leading the rehearsals and accompanying with a keyboard.

Mrs Metherell said “We will continue to run them outside until Covid restrictions allow us to sing inside in mixed year groups again. It is somewhat weather dependent, but pupils are really enjoying singing outside!”
