Easter trips around the globe

Colfeians travelled across the world during the Easter break, on a series of educational study trips run by Modern Foreign Languages, Classics, Geography and the CCF Squadron.

Highlights of a visit to South West USA include the Grand Canyon and Death Valley, as well as a spontaneous stop-off at the Badwater Basin Salt Flats. Culture, politics and history were at the heart of two trips to Paris and Berlin for Colfe’s Sixth Form Language students, with a backstage tour of the Paris Opera House and guided walks in Germany which explored the Holocaust and the Cold War.

Colfe’s extra-curricular trips not only give pupils experience of the world beyond the classroom but focus on helping to develop skills in leadership, team work, self-esteem and resilience. Such was the case during a hike up Mount Vesuvius in some very windy weather conditions for Classicists during their trip to Rome and the Bay of Naples – whilst budding skiers in the Junior School headed for the slopes of Serre Chevalier in France. Closer to home, our CCF Cadets also spent a week at RAF Boulmer in Northumbria.
