Colfe’s Music Department was delighted to host its second live-streamed concert of the academic year. The concert involved pupils from Year 7 through to Year 12, many of whom were performing solos at Colfe’s for the first time.
The programme was full and varied and it was fantastic to experience the thrill of live music again in our recital hall.
Benedict Holmes, Director of Music said: “Performing to a live audience can be daunting, but it’s even more unnerving when the majority of your audience is on the other side of a screen and you can’t gauge their reaction at the end of the piece. Our students, however, rose to the challenge. It was hugely rewarding to be able to offer pupils this live performance opportunity, and as lockdown restrictions ease, we hope there will be many more events for our pupils to showcase their musical talents in person.”
Congratulations to all the performers who handled the circumstances with aplomb, producing a mature musical programme for the delight of parents at home and staff in the live audience.
