Digital Learning at Colfe’s

Following Colfe’s success in remote and hybrid learning during the pandemic, the senior school will begin the rollout of a digital device initiative for pupils in Year 7 and Year 12 from September 2022.

Digital learning will be used alongside Colfe’s current teaching approaches to enhance engagement, progress, and outcomes for pupils. It will allow teachers and pupils to move away from paper textbooks to online alternatives, as well as take advantage of many other online resources, software platforms and apps.

From September 2022, parents of pupils in Year 7 and Year 12 will be required to purchase a personal device from the Microsoft Surface range – including Microsoft Surface Pro and Microsoft Surface Go.

The initiative will then be rolled out to pupils across all other year groups in the senior school from September 2023.

Deputy Head Donna Graham said ‘During the pandemic teachers and pupils at Colfe’s took to digital learning with great enthusiasm. As a result, we feel that now is the right time to harness that momentum and introduce laptops into the classroom. This experience will not only improve pupils’ learning at school but also prepare them for success in the world beyond Colfe’s.”
