Colfe’s Carol Service

Senior School musicians had a triumphant return to St Mary’s Church, Lewisham for the annual Colfe’s Carol Service.

The senior choir performed rousing renditions of Gaudete and Riu, Riu, Chiu from the church galleries with solos from Millie (Y13), Martha (Y12), Orlando (Y13), Moses (Y10), Maria (Y9), Amelie (Y9) and Lora (Y9).

More reflective moments were provided by the chamber ensembles, with performances of An Earthly Blessing by Will Todd and There is no Rose.

Special mentions go to Sebastian (Y7) for his solo in Once in Royal David’s City and Orlando (Y13) who sang O Holy Night.

The service concluded with Ludwig (Y10) who performed the dramatic Toccata from Boëllmann’s Suite Gothique on the organ.

Director of Music Benedict Holmes said “This is always a beautiful event and was very much missed from the Colfe’s calendar last year. It was lovely to see everyone perform with so much enthusiasm and passion.”
