New Bursar at Colfe's

Max Adamson joins Colfe’s as new Bursar and Clerk to the Governors.

Max Adamson joins Colfe’s from a distinguished career in Finance at NatWest where his responsibilities included leading teams in the development and delivery of financial plans, as well as heading a change programme in Treasury and delivering a major risk assessment to the Bank of England’s regulator.

“It’s a genuine pleasure to be joining Colfe’s as Bursar and Clerk to the Governors.  Whilst it feels highly unusual to be starting during the partial closure of the school due to Covid-19, witnessing the school’s response to the pandemic has reinforced my impression that this is a very successful and thriving school. The dedication and enthusiasm of the staff has stood out throughout.”

In the coming weeks Max will meet individuals and teams from across the school with support from outgoing Bursar Julie Lerbech who is leaving Colfe’s after 10 years of outstanding service to take up the role of Director of Finance and Operations and Clerk to the Governors at Benenden School.

Richard Russell, Headmaster said “I am delighted to welcome Max to Colfe’s. He will add great value to the senior leadership of the school. His financial experience will be a particular asset in these challenging times and I have every confidence that he will play a key role in maintaining the school’s upward trajectory, building on the excellent work of his predecessor, Julie Lerbech.”
