Pupils in Year 3 enjoyed an especially festive day this week at an Elf Workshop.

The children began the day designing and painting their own Christmas/winter plates at a pottery workshop, facilitated by local pottery shop Find Store. A wonderful variety of plates were created by the pupils, including plenty of jolly Santas, elves, Christmas trees, foliage and wintry landscapes.

The arts and crafts continued during the morning as the children decorated their own Elf bags and made Elf dream jars, before making their way to Forest School. After a fortifying hot chocolate, the group spent a fantastically fun afternoon making elf doors, making houses for elves, and even learning an elf dance.

Year 3 Form Tutor Lucy Hibbert said: “Elf Day was a fantastic opportunity to offer the children some much deserved end of term fun. The rotation of festive art and craft and team building activities was greatly enjoyed by all the children, and they produced some wonderfully creative and carefully produced plates that we hope families will enjoy at home. The afternoon was spent in our Forest School – we were lucky with the weather and the children had a fantastic time in the fresh air building doors and houses for the elves, rounded off with an elf dance which they took part in with gusto and thoroughly enjoyed.”
