Leathersellers' Visitation Day 2023

A beautiful sunny day greeted the school’s trustee, the Worshipful Company of Leathersellers, on its annual visitation to Colfe’s.

The Master Leatherseller Clare Lennon, the Clerk, and Pastmasters of the Leathersellers’ Company attended the day, alongside the Chairman of Governors Matthew Pellereau, Officers of the Leathersellers’ Company, and Governors.

The Leathersellers’ Company traditionally visits the school in the summer term to see developments at Colfe’s and to meet pupils and staff. This year’s visit included a tour of new classrooms, a presentation on the roll-out of digital devices, a performance from the Junior Choir and an excerpt of this year’s Senior Summer performance of Bugsy Malone. The Company was also introduced to the new school captains, some of the school’s Leatherseller Scholars and Ukrainian pupils. The visit ended with a glimpse of the end of year GCSE and A Level Art show which opens later this week.

Colfe’s has been closely linked with The Leathersellers’ Company since the 17th century when the Revd. Abraham Colfe, entrusted the school to the Company. Over three and a half centuries later, the relationship is still going strong. As well as the ground-breaking Leatherseller Scholarship programme, the Master of the Leathersellers’ Company serves as an ex officio Governor, and the governing body is chaired by and includes eight Members of the Company.
