Leathersellers' Visitation Day 2020
Colfe’s was delighted to welcome the Master Leatherseller, the Head of Grants and the Chair of Governors to the school for the Leathersellers’ Annual Visitation.
A yearly visit to the school was first instructed by Reverend Abraham Colfe in his Will in 1657 to ensure the school was being well run and delivering the best education for pupils. The event has since become a permanent feature in the Colfe’s calendar and one that is always enjoyed by staff and pupils alike.
In line with the school’s COVID procedures, the itinerary for the day was full and included a tour of the school, meetings with the Headmaster, staff, School Captains and a presentation of the recently launched online admissions experience, Virtual Colfe’s.
Master Leatherseller, Jonathan Muirhead and Head of Grants, Natalia Rymaszewska, were also invited to judge the Year 7 Leathersellers’ poster competition.
Headmaster Richard Russell said “The Visitation is always special for Colfe’s. It is a tradition that stretches back almost four centuries, as one of the specific commitments that Abraham Colfe demanded of the Leathersellers’ Company in his Will. The relationship between the School and the Company is as strong today as it has ever been and we hope to welcome the Master and Wardens back to the School again in the Summer Term.”
