Leathersellers Visit Colfe’s for Posters and Prizegiving

Following a year of academic and co-curricular success at Colfe’s, the Leathersellers attended the upper school prizegiving and judged the annual Leathersellers Poster Competition.

Among the guests were the Master Leatherseller, Nick Tusting, and Mistress Leatherseller Sara Tusting, who awarded the prizes, as well as the Chair of Governors Matthew Pellereau and his wife, Phillippa Pellereau.

The Leathersellers Poster Competition is open to Year 8 pupils, who are tasked with creating a poster about the rich history of the Leathersellers Company and their valuable connection to Colfe’s. The judging panel of governors awarded Zeke first place, with Alecsia and Esma as the runners-up, against tough competition. The entrants this year were of a particularly high quality, including detailed drawings of the Leathersellers coat of arms and even a poster made of leather!

Prizegiving was also a celebratory event as pupils received books, trophies and even a sword for success in the previous school year. It was a particularly memorable evening given it was Mr Russell’s last prizegiving before his retirement and the evening was a fitting tribute to all the school has recently achieved.
