Art, Drama and Music

Music-making, singing and performing are core activities in our co-curricular programme

We have a choir, orchestra and numerous ensembles which all rehearse and play regularly in school concerts and at many outside venues.

The majority of pupils have an individual instrumental lesson each week with one of our many peripatetic music teachers. All children have the opportunity of class recorder and ukulele lessons during KS2 and Year 4 have a free year of lessons with instrumental specialists on an orchestral instrument in the brand new ‘Bright Sparks’ Orchestra.

Dramatic productions make use of the modern facilities of the visual and performing arts centre in the Senior School. From the nativity in EYFS, to productions such as Jack and the Beanstalk in Key Stage 2 – children have opportunities through their school life to grow and develop into confident performers.

Art is taught in our specialist art and design room – art work is displayed around the school and the annual art exhibition showcases all the children’s work throughout the year.
