Football Stardom Beckons for Year 11 Leaver

While most 16 year-olds enjoy a summer of relaxation after their GCSEs, for Year 11’s Justin it was a different story. After achieving outstanding GCSE results of nine grade 9s and two grade 8s, he left Colfe’s to join the Derby County Football Club Under-18s Academy.

Justin first joined the Rams at Under-16s level, and having established his prowess as a striker after two goals in just five appearances, he signed for the Under-18s a first year scholar in the club’s Academy, which sits in the Academy League, the equivalent of the U-18s premiership.

He will continue studies alongside his blossoming football career, and is set to embark on A-levels, amidst a gruelling week of training and fixtures.

Justin said: “Playing football has been my favourite thing to do since I was old enough to remember. I can express myself on the football pitch, creating opportunities and scoring, and it’s a feeling like no other. I had a fantastic time at Colfe’s and loved it, but I am so excited to pursue my dream and so excited about the future.”
