Fantastic A-level results for Colfe’s
87% of grades awarded were A*-B with 60% A*-A, and 26% A*. Eleven students gained all A* grades and 95% will attend their chosen university including Russell Group and other leading competitive universities. Four students are off to Oxbridge to read Asian and Middle Eastern Studies, Classics, English, and Modern Languages. Two students will attend Imperial College to read Mechanical Engineering and five will read Medicine (including Veterinary Science at the RVC).
Highly competitive degree apprenticeships and higher professional qualifications continue to be a popular option, with Colfe’s leavers due to start work this autumn at prestigious organisations including Goldman Sachs, Astra Zeneca, BDO, Bloomberg, Ernst & Young, PwC and Deutsche Bank.
BTEC grades in Creative Media Production and Sport & Exercise Science were announced earlier in the summer, with all students receiving the top-level awards of Distinction or Merit grades. The 16 students who chose to do an EPQ (Extended Project Qualification, equivalent to 50% of an A-level) all achieved A* or A grades.
Headmaster Richard Russell said: “Colfe’s has maintained its standing amongst the top schools nationally with these excellent results. The improvement in the top grades (A*/A) was particularly welcome. It was an absolute delight to see so many happy pupils and parents in school this morning. The range of destinations, including degree apprenticeships, is truly outstanding and we wish them all well as they embark on the next stage of their educational journey.”
