Colfe’s is delighted to announce that it has been accredited as a Microsoft Showcase School for the second consecutive year. This prestigious status, awarded to selected schools, is awarded in recognition of the school’s innovation in teaching, learning, and preparing students for the future.
Microsoft Showcase Schools are celebrated for their pioneering use of technology to create personalised, inclusive, and immersive learning experiences. The reaccreditation highlights Colfe’s position as a leader in educational innovation, recognising that the school’s digital strategy is embedded throughout the curriculum and is rooted in inclusion, innovation and sustainability.
Digital Learning lead Caroline Beale said:
“We are extremely proud to be named a Microsoft Showcase School for a second year running. This recognition reflects the school’s forward-looking vision: equipping our pupils with the skills, confidence, and digital fluency they need to thrive in an ever-changing world, while sensitively shaping the classroom for tomorrow.
“Our approach is that digital transformation is more than simply using devices in lessons – we ensure pupils develop fundamental digital skills alongside creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. SEND and EAL learners are also supported through accessibility features and personalised approaches.
“Our Digital Learning and AI working parties ensure planning and alignment across all areas of the school, and we are proud of how responsive, inclusive and flexible we are. We are also mindful that a digital transformation is not at the expense of ‘traditional’ skills. Our school community is embracing the opportunities presented by technology, but is not dictated by it. We are working, for example, to develop pupils’ critical thinking with the use of AI, enabling our students to build discernment, self-regulation and confidence to use AI as a learning partner, not a shortcut.”
