The Christmas spirit has begun in earnest as junior pupils dazzled audiences with three magical productions this week, each brimming with festive cheer.
The youngest children stole hearts in the charming nativity, Humph the Camel, the story of a grumpy camel who discovers the true meaning of Christmas on a journey to Bethlehem. With catchy songs, and plenty of “humphs,” the children of Nursery and Reception lit up the stage in this important festive moment in the Junior calendar.
Years 1 and 2 brought the barnyard to life in Prickly Hay, a warm and witty story about a stable boy who learns that even the prickliest hay can play a part in something wonderful. Packed with laugh-out-loud moments, this production had the audience cheering for every character, from the cheeky animals to the kind-hearted helpers.
Meanwhile Years 3 and 4 delivered a showstopper with Foxy Stallone, a joyous twist on the classic nativity theme based on a mash-up of Bugsy Malone and Fantastic Mr Fox. Featuring riotously colourful costumes and plenty of festive fun, this vibrant production had plenty of high-energy dance numbers and music that got the crowd clapping along.
