Careers talks kick off with ‘Getting into Drama School’

On the eve of her first day at the prestigious Leeds Conservatoire, Old Colfeian Francesca Rameaux took the time to give the first of this year’s Careers@Colfe’s lunchtime talks.

Inspiring an audience of students from Years 11-13, Francesca discussed her route into drama school; enrolling on a two-year Foundation training course before embarking on a Musical Theatre degree.

She shared valuable insights on everything from writing personal statements and the importance of getting the perfect headshot, to taking risks and how to succeed in an audition.

Francesca said: “During my time in Year 13 I knew I wanted to go to drama school as growing up I had always been involved in the arts. Unlike a lot of other applicants my age I was at Sixth Form rather than a performing arts college, but after two years of training at Read College I’m delighted to be attending one of the leading Musical Theatre courses in the country.”
