The creativity, ambition and technical expertise of Colfe’s Year 13 Media Studies students took centre stage at this year’s End of Year Show, which celebrated the culmination of two years of rigorous creative and academic work.
The showcase featured an impressive range of student-produced short films, music videos and opening sequences, each demonstrating a confident grasp of screenwriting, directing, cinematography, editing and production design. Audiences were taken on a journey across genres, from tense horror and supernatural narratives to slice‑of‑life realism and wry comedy.
The students’ originality and willingness to experiment was clear, with films and sequences tackling challenging themes and bold creative choices displayed in professional-level music videos. The diversity of work reflected both the individual voices of the filmmakers and the collaborative nature of the course, with students working together to bring ambitious ideas to life on screen.
Head of Media Studies Craig Foxall said:
“This group has shown an excellent level of maturity and originality in their work. The confidence with which they’ve handled complex themes and industry-standard production techniques is hugely impressive and a real credit to their hard work over the past two years. The End of Year Show was a fitting conclusion to the students’ Media Studies journey and a proud moment for them and for us. Congratulations to all involved, and we look forward to seeing where their creative talents take them next.”
