Colfe’s School is celebrating another outstanding year of GCSE success, with pupils achieving record-breaking outcomes and the highest proportion of top grades in the school’s history.
This year’s achievements continue the school’s strong trajectory of academic excellence.
A third of all grades awarded were at Grade 9, the highest grade possible. Grades 9-8 (A*-A) accounted for 61% of all grades awarded, while a record-breaking 82% were achieved at grades 9-7 (A*-B), surpassing previous school records and marking a significant milestone for the school. These successes follow last week’s excellent A Level results.
Behind the headline figures lies a tremendous amount of hard work, determination and resilience from pupils, supported every step of the way by the dedication and expertise of their teachers.
Among those celebrating was Jesse, who achieved an outstanding 11 Grade 9s.
“I’m ecstatic. I wasn’t expecting such great grades. Thank you to all the teachers for everything they’ve done.”
Issy, who achieved a fantastic three Grade 9s, four Grade 8s and three Grade 7s and plans to study Biology, Economics and BTEC Sports Science at Colfe’s Sixth Form, was equally delighted.
“I’m super excited to start the Sixth Form. All my hard work has paid off and I’m so grateful to my teachers and to my mum and dad for being so supportive. It shows that effort really does pay off.”
For Turmalina, who also achieved an exceptional 11 Grade 9s, the overwhelming feeling was one of relief and gratitude.
“I’m very pleased and honestly a bit lost for words. I feel relieved. The school supported us really well during the exam period and the teachers were always there to help and support us.”
