Year 7

The transition from Junior School to Senior School is not always easy. Getting used to new systems and making new friends can prove stressful, but the Year 7 team work together to ensure that students ‘settle in’ as quickly and as seamlessly as possible. To that end we actively encourage students to join a club or society and to take full advantage of the many extra-curricular activities on offer.

The year group is organised into five small form groups, each with a specialist form tutor working under the guidance of the Head of Year and the Pastoral Deputy Head.  We want to support students as they progress throughout the year, and to help them develop socially, morally and academically.

Emphasis is laid in our year assemblies on creating and fostering an ambiance of mutual respect and tolerance, and students study and discuss issues from bullying to healthy living in the PSHEE programme of study. All of this ensures our students are well provided for in pastoral terms.
