How to apply: Sixth Form (Ages 17-18)

The Sixth Form Open Evening is held in October each year and consists of a timetabled set of ‘taster sessions’, which are brief 15 minute introductions to the A level subjects available at Colfe's.  Each prospective student can attend five subject sessions, a talk by the Headmaster and has the opportunity to talk to staff, including the Headmaster, Director of Sixth Form and the Director of Studies. The list of subjects available at Colfe's and some background information, is given here.

There are also Open Mornings at the school in September and November each year which prospective Sixth Form students and their parents are encouraged to attend.  Details of all our Open Mornings are listed here.

The application form can be downloaded from here and the timetable of admissions events, including the date of the Sixth Form entrance examination, is here.

Sixth Form prospective pupils are offered places based on performance in the entrance examination held in November of the year preceding entry and on an agreed minimum performance at GCSE.  The examination consists of three papers: English, Maths and a general paper.

In the Senior School and Sixth Form we offer financial assistance in the form of  merit based and means-tested scholarships. These are awarded on the basis of performance in the entrance examination and an interview with the Headmaster. Sixth Form scholarships  are also conditional on an agreed performance at GCSE.
