Information For External Applicants: Colfe’s Sixth Form is made up of approximately 180 students (90 in Year 12 and 90 in Year 13). ‘ A’ level subjects range from Maths, Latin & Economics to Media Studies, Psychology and Drama. Results are consistently very good; this summer 71% of our A level entries were graded A or B. The majority of our current Year 11 students are expected to continue into the Sixth Form; however, we do welcome applications for Year 12 from external students. Those wishing to apply for a place for next September (2010) are advised to do so before the end of October. 

Entrance Criteria For External Applicants: Candidates for Sixth Form places applying after 21 ^st November will be invited into the school for an interview and to take an exam, following which a decision about his/her application will be made. We will approach the student’s current school for an academic reference which includes a request for predicted GCSE grades. If we believe the student has the potential to meet the academic criteria for Sixth Form entry, we will offer a conditional place for September. The conditions being that the student achieves at least 14 points at GCSE, with an A* or A equating to 3 points, a B equating to 2 and a C equating to 1 point. We also require the student to get A grades in at least four subjects, preferably in the subjects that he/she wishes to study in the Sixth Form.
