As well as benefiting from a variety of academic opportunities, students in the Colfe’s sixth form are strongly encouraged to become involved in a wide range of extra-curricular activities to improve their learning experience and their time in the school. As well as a number of subject specific societies, the sixth-form caters for students interested in sport, theatre and music, as well as other preferences. Separate events like a ‘DNA Day’, trips abroad or a public speaking day help to further enrich our Sixth Form Students’ experience.

There are a number of societies that allow students to extend their interest in certain subjects. These include the Dead Historians Society, which provides a number of outside speakers and social events for A Level History students, MedSoc, which helps students interested in a career medicine improve their knowledge and EcoSoc, a new society for thriving Economics students. These societies, as well as adding to the Sixth Form social environment, allow students to further their interest and knowledge in their favoured subjects, preparing them for a life in university. Students are also encouraged to contribute to the Newgate Papers, the Sixth Form magazine.

Colfe’s caters for athletic students all the way from year seven, and this is no different in the Sixth Form. There are a number of sports teams for both boys and girls, including four rugby teams, three football teams, two cricket teams, hockey teams and netball teams. There are a number of matches played across the season against other schools, as well as regular training sessions to improve students sporting capabilities.

As well as sport, Colfe’s caters for students interested in drama, art and music. There are a number of theatre visits to see prestigious West End shows, and students are encouraged to take part in school productions such as 'Piaf' and ‘Antigone’. For musical students, there is the opportunity to join the school choir and orchestra or to perform at a number of events across the school calendar e.g. school recitals.

At Colfe’s we believe that our extra-curricular provision in the Sixth Form is outstanding and helps to contribute to the balanced approach to life that our students posses when they leave school. There really is something for everyone at Colfe’s.
