Netball
Netball is one of the girls’ three major sports and is predominately played during the Lent
term. Extra-curricular training takes place during the Michaelmas and Lent terms and we currently
run three teams at senior level and two teams at under 16, under 15, under 14, under 13, and under
12 level that regularly play competitively. Fixtures are arranged, against local schools,
during the week with a number of Saturday morning matches. Last season over 100 matches were
played across the age range against other schools.
In addition to fixtures Colfe’s enters into the Kent U19/U16/U14/U13/U12 Tournaments, the
Trinity schools and Bromley U15 tournament. There are also interhouse and versatility tournaments
for all year groups. This year Colfe’s has entered teams in the Bromley league at Snr and Under 15
level for the first time.
Colfe’s has strong links with Kent County Netball Club other local clubs which enables girls
to compete in the North West Kent Junior and Senior leagues. Through club netball Colfe’s
girls can attend County trials and Satellite squad coaching sessions. We currently have girls from
all year groups attending club training and five girls playing at regional level.
A new initiative, requested by the U15 team, whereby the senior girls mentor one on one the
prep school netball girls is due to start in October. Both schools are very excited about this
venture.
