Cricket
Cricket is the main sport played by boys in the summer term. The school has a proud history
and tradition in the sport and boasts several players that have made it through to ‘first class’
level.
The master in charge of cricket is Mr Graham Clinton, the former Surrey & Kent opening
batsman who went on to coach both counties when his playing career ended. He is supported by a
strong network of coaches and teachers who look after the boys during the games afternoons and in
after school practices.
The school has a very competitive fixture list for all age groups including matches against
St Paul’s, Barnes and Whitgift School. Colfe’s prides itself for having both an ‘elite’ and ‘sport
for all’ policy and this transcends to cricket with both A + B team matches through to U15 level
and 3 teams playing at senior level.
Colfe’s has excellent facilities at its disposal. There are 4 wickets, three of which have
been laid in the last year. The school also has 3 indoor nets which allows for practice to take
place through the winter and summer months.
