Boys sport
For many boys, sport is an integral part of school life at Colfe’s. Boys throughout the school have a minimum of 100 minutes per week exposure to PE and Games.
The PE and Games curriculum offers basic skills and understanding in:
·         invasion,
·         net/wall,
·         striking and fielding games,
·         gymnastics, swimming,
·         athletics and
·         health-related exercise to all of its pupils.

Throughout the year we have an extensive competitive fixture list for rugby, football and cricket. The majority of these matches are played on Saturdays against other schools. We also compete in swimming fixtures against local schools, but this is generally offered to boys in Years 7 & 8. We have a good relationship with Cambridge Harriers Athletic Club and many of our athlete’s are referred to them through the Greenwich Schools Athletics Association.
Our Rugby Achievments:
·         Winning the Kent Cup at U14 & U15 Level
·         Competitive U12 & U13 teams in the 7’s Circuit
·         U13’s running up in the Rosslyn Park National 7’s Circuit in 2001 and quarter-finalists in 2007
·         XV Team entering the National Daily Mail Cup every season.
Our Football Achievements:
·         XV team winning the Trinity School’s Cup in 2002, 2003 & 2004
·         XV team winning the Bromley Cup in 2005
·         U15 team winning the Bromley Cup in 2003
·         U14 team losing finalists in Bromley Cup in 2005

Cricket is played throughout the summer term, but indoor nets run throughout the winter months using our excellent facilities in the sports hall. We have a very strong fixture list which is headed by our annual match against the MCC.
We undertake international and national sports tours to further broaden the experiences of our pupils and staff:
·         Rugby tours to Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia and Fiji have taken place in recent years.
·         Our footballers have been to Spain, Brazil and Florida.
·         Our cricketers have toured South Africa and the West Indies.
We have a ‘sport for all’ philosophy and we encourage participation throughout the school giving pupils the opportunity to receive appropriate coaching and competition dependent on their ability.
We identify pupils of outstanding potential and refer them to local/regional/national /international organisations. We have a number of boys throughout the school who have represented their county at rugby, football and cricket.
Our extra-curriculum programme delivers quality coaching and competitive fixtures to team groups in rugby, football, cricket, tennis and swimming.
