Junior Mathematics Challenge 2010
On Thursday pupils from the top three sets in Year 8 and the best mathematicians in Year 7, (a total of ninety nine children in all), sat the Junior Mathematics Challenge. This is a competition held annually by the United Kingdom Mathematical Trust. The competition is to challenge the most able students in Years 7 and 8 in a fun way. Museum of London Trip for 8D and 8E
On Monday 18th January 33 students from Year 8 attended an activity day exploring Britannia under the Romans and the courageous leaders like Boudicca attempting to prolong their freedom through high octane military campaigns. Read more...
Christmas Science Club
Year 7 and 8 students had the opportunity to enjoy some Christmassy Science fun at the end of last term. The club was held at lunchtime and students who participated were able to grow their own crystal snowflakes, make some fake snow and observe silver forming on a copper Christmas tree. All students who attended thoroughly enjoyed themselves, particularly making the fake snow and were able to take their projects home at the end of the week. The Science department are intending to hold more themed Science clubs, like this one, throughout the year.
