Collective Worship
Colfeās School has a Christian foundation and collective worship has
a role to play in the daily life of the School. There are full School assemblies on Monday, Tuesday
and Friday of each week. These are taken by various members of staff or SMT and often involve the
pupils. They consist of a hymn and prayers with a talk or presentation on a religious or moral
theme. During the school year, the Christmas Carol Service and the Founder's Day service are
important occasions in the spiritual life of the School.
On Thursday of each week, there is a regular programme of lectures
for the Lower Sixth with considerable use of outside speakers. The topics range widely over
religious, moral, political and social issues; and they are designed to widen the horizons of the
students and to challenge their thinking.
