Sex Education
Our policy is to encourage and promote stability within relationships at all times and against
this background to present views held in society about different kinds of relationships. We provide
information about all aspects of male and female sexual development and generate discussion of
related matters. At all times, pupils are encouraged to respect and care for themselves and others.
Lessons are taught to boys and girls together although there may be occasions when it is
appropriate for separate sessions to be held. The School Nurse and the School Counsellor are
available to advise pupils on a confidential basis as appropriate. Any pupil may be exempted from
this part of the curriculum programme at his or her parents' request.
