We have devised our own flexible English programme for
Years 7, 8 and 9, prepare all Year 10 and 11 pupils for the O.C.R. G.C.S.E. English and
English Literature exams (some pupils follow an alternative Media Studies G.C.S.E.) and A/S and A2
English Literature has always been an immensely popular sixth form choice with significant numbers
of students going on to read English and English based courses at university.
Outside of the classroom we are currently involved in
the Carnegie shadowing reading scheme for lower school readers, debating at various levels and
organising (usually) text-related theatre visits.
