Half Term Trip To Austria
Over Spring half-term a group of 6th Form German linguists, Historians and Artists enjoyed a culture-laden trip to Austria. Our initial destination, Vienna, was cold but impressive and the students visited the beautiful (yet unfinished) Stephansdom, the magnificently yellow Schonbrunn Summer Palace of the Habsburgs, the Sisi museum in the imposing Hofburg Imperial Winter Palace and many art galleries including the Belvedere which housed Gustav Klimt's 'The Kiss'. Colfe’s Students Exhibit Their Artistic Talent
This year’s GCSE and A level art exhibition saw it’s biggest ever attendance by parents and friends, all eager to see the excellent range of work that our students have produced for their exam pieces. Exhibits ranged from large oil paintings and contemporary sculpture to a quirky fashion mannequin dressed in recycled material and a stunning mosaic dragon. Read more...
Etching Workshops
We will be holding a series of evening classes this term, giving adults and sixth form students the opportunity to learn the process of etching. Along with engraving, etching is one of the oldest and most important methods of printmaking in use today. The workshops will be run by Jenny Hendra, a practicing artist and printmaker. Read more...
