Music
Colfe's School has a thriving music department
consisting of two full time staff and a team of twenty peripatetic staff. Instrumental tuition is
available to both prep and senior school pupils on most orchestral instruments as well as voice,
organ, guitar and drum-kit. Scholarships and bursaries are available for entrants into years 7 and

The music department has a wide range of ensembles including two choirs, orchestra, three
string ensembles catering for different abilities, Brass, woodwind and gutar ensembles and smaller
chamber music groups which offer a wide range of musical experiences for pupils of all age and
ability. Recent concert venues include St. Alfege's Church, Greenwich and Southwark Cathedral where
the school held its 350 year anniversary concert.
The department moved into new purpose built accommodation in January 2003 which provides
outstanding facilities for teaching. It comprises two class teaching rooms, a music technology
room, six practice rooms and recital hall.
