Years 7, 8 and 9
In Years 7 to 9 pupils are taught in mixed ability classes with the exception of Mathematics
where teaching is organised in ability sets from Year 8.
In
Year 7 all pupils follow courses in the following subjects:

All pupils follow a course in Active Citizenship (Personal, Social and Health Education).
In
Year 8 pupils continue with the subjects above with the exception that pupils
choose between continuing with either Latin or Drama and that ICT is delivered through subjects
across the curriculum. In addition, pupils study a second Modern Language, either German or
Spanish.
In Year 9 all pupils continue to study English, Mathematics, History, Geography,
PE, Games and Active Citizenship. Science is now taught as separate disciplines in Biology,
Chemistry and Physics. In addition pupils choose five options from French, German or Spanish,
Religious Studies, Latin, Art, Music, Drama and Design Technology. At least one option must be a
Modern Language. |
