Assessment is a continuous process at all levels of the school. Throughout the year continuous assessment of the progress of pupils is made through the marking of homework and classwork together with regular tests. Appropriate intervals are chosen for formal reporting to parents through:

  • assessment cards giving grades for attainment and effort reflecting term and examination performance,
  • full written reports on term and examination performance,
  • parents’ evenings, and individual consultations with Year heads or members of the Senior Management team.

Year 7, 8 & 9

  • Assessment Grade Cards each half term
  • Examinations June
  • End of Year Report July

Parents’ evenings are scheduled in November for Years 7 and 8 and in March for Year 9. An ‘ introductory’ meeting for Year 7 parents and Form Tutors is held in September.

Year 10 & 11

  • Assessment Grade Cards each half term
  • Examinations January and June (Yr10)
  • January (Mocks) May/June (GCSEs) (Yr11)
  • End of Year Report July (Yr 10)

Parents’ evenings are scheduled in January for Year 11 and in February for Year 10.  An ‘ introductory’ meeting for Year 10 parents and Form Tutors is held in September.

Year 12

  • Assessment Grade Cards each half term

Year 13
