Orion Victorious at Swimming Gala

The annual house gala was a splashing success. Swimmers of all abilities battled in the pool to win points for their houses. From the width swimmers to the length swimmers, an excellent effort was made by all and team spirit was high.

Dear Parents

We kindly request that only parents of Nursery children drive into the school before 9am and between 2.30pm and 3.15pm (please ensure permits are clearly displayed). There are designated parking bays in Upwood Road where a car may be left for up to half an hour. After 3.15pm all parents may use the school car park. This facility is available only if there are spare parking bays.

From Monday 15 March 2010, designated members of staff will monitor the Prep School and Leisure Centre car park. If there are no available parking bays then motorists will be politely asked to move on.

Colfe’s Raises Funds for Demelza House

Last week Terri Kennor from Demelza House visited the school to explore ways in which pupils can help with fundraising for Demelza House. The children’s hospice needs to raise £15,000 per day to cover running costs and without any government support all money comes from either donations or fundraising. Read more...

Bromley Deaf Children Society Presented with Cheque

Cheque Presentation On Friday 29th January the prep school were pleased to welcome Rachel and Debbie from Bromley Deaf Children’s Society to their morning assembly. They spoke about their organisation and how they helped the families of deaf children in Bromley and the surrounding areas. The school were delighted to be able to present them with a cheque for £1400 from the proceeds of our Christmas Fayre. Read more...

Lee Fire Station

Y6 Visit Lee Green Fire Station London Fire Brigade and Greenwich Council jointly organised a Junior Citizen Scheme Event for our Year 6s last Monday. The aim was to promote good citizenship in children in Year 6, which assists in preparing them for a more independent life at secondary school, and beyond into adult life. During their half day the children took part in 9 twelve minute interactive scenarios with professionals and volunteers from a range of partner agencies. The scenarios covered independent travel, stranger danger, home fire safety, health, safety in the community and peer pressure. Read more...

Thames Barrier

Year 6 Visit The Thames Barrier By Ben and Edward 6A On Thursday 4th February Year 6 went to the Thames Barrier to learn about climate change and flooding. We had been learning about this in Geography. We got off the coach and were soon lead off to our first activities. Our group headed off to learn about sustainability and how to reduce waste. After playing lots of fun activities in the classroom we went into the garden which was designed to be completely sustainable. Some things helped to reduce energy, some were recycled (wormery) or reused (benches), and some used renewable sources of energy (solar powered lights). Read more...

Welcome to the Preparatory School

The Preparatory School (Nursery, Pre-Prep and Prep) is situated on the same site as the Senior School, although vehicular access is via Upwood Road. Children can join the Nursery at 3+, the Pre-Prep at 4 and the Preparatory at 7. The Nursery and Pre-Prep is adjacent to the Prep School (Years 3-6) and both share the extensive sporting and drama facilities of the Senior School.

Colfe’s prides itself in its reputation for giving an all round education from the academic to pastoral and from the sports to the arts.
